  3. Not per se. They weren't really specialized disco bars, but just regular bars, restaurants or community centers which were converted into disco halls for the weekend. They were known as "dansyngi" which is a Polish version of pronouncing "dancing".

  4. There were no clubs or discos in today's meaning. However, there were two kinds of places you could call "discos".

    First were expensive and exclusive restaurants which had a dancing floor and music. They were mostly for communist party members, foreigners and rich people who could spend sums of money that an average person could not even dream of.

    Second were places such as culture centers, youth centers and other places which generally had different profile than a disco, which organized parties with music and dancing. In villages dancing parties were usually organized in voluntary fire brigade stations, as they were located in nearly every larger village.
