Just curious, I read an article a few weeks back about a guy who had built a tower on top of an ancient underground city, I think it was in Hungary.

  1. hollow earth is viewed as impossible by most mainstream scientists, the first homo sapiens came around some 200,000 years ago and dinosaurs were ruling the earth then so civilization would be almost impossible, if you're in doubt, you need your head checked

  2. the short answer is no

  3. there hasnt been any info of that in my ear maybe..   sounds theoretical

  4. That long ago, our ancestors looked kinda like a cross between a rat and a chipmunk, only more nervous.  The earliest cities didn't start appearing until roughly 8000 years ago.  There haven't really been any truly subterranean civilizations, but there are plenty of ruins underground.  The town flooded (or, as in Pompeii, had another natural disaster) or was burnt down, and people built on the ruins.  Eventually, over centuries, you can end up with quite impressive hills built this way.  Unless you were reading a really disreputable newspaper, that's probably what they were talking about.

  5. Civilization is tuypically thought of as having a history/writing system. So, if suc a thing existed, we would have writings somewhere to justify calling it a "civilization.

Of course, I do not believe civilization exists without a city. To have a city, you need a waste disposal system. Personally, without a flush toilet, I am not sure I want to call it civilized, in other words...

  6. 60-70 Million years ago: Not a chance.

Homosapiens started evolving around 400,000 years ago.

  7. Several theories about a hollow earth, with entrances at the poles, were offered up over the years. None presented any evidence and space borne reconnaissance has disproved the idea.

Edgar Rice Borroughs had Tarzan visit the hollow earth and wrote several other books using the idea. As with most hollow earth theories there was supposedly a sun at the center and the place had 24 hours of sunlight.

Basic physics has the math to show that a hollow earth would be unstable and collapse.

The area of Europe that you mention does have extensive salt mines. Some are carved with churches and other decorations. That could be the "city."

  8. Modern scientists do not accept the humans, therefore civilizations, were around 60-70 million years ago.  Current accepted theory is that  humanoids were roaming the earth about 2-3 millions years ago.  Research "Lucy" as a reference.
