Were there apartments in the World Trade Center?

I was only 12 when 9-11-01 happened and I thought I overheard my Mom saying that people had apartments in there. She'd heard it from someone else. Is this true?

  2. There were no apartments IN the WTC complex, but about 40,000 people live in the immediate area around the WTC - including right across the street. Most of the folks living in the surrounding apartment buildings were forced from their homes for 6 - 18 months - some never returned...

  5. No, maybe you or your Mom are confused with the Marriott Hotel that was part of the complex and directly below the South Tower and sustained extensive damage on 9/11.

  6. no there were no apts in the WTC.  however, there were a few individual art studios and at least one person who spent the night in her studio was killed.   There are apartment complexes directly across the street from the site.
