  1. Wikipedia says they are native to southern & eastern Asia, so I would suppose that any travel between there & England would have seen transportation of the plant at some time & I would think it highly likely that there were Hydrangeas in Medieval England


  2. I don't know, but I would look up Kew Royal Botanic Gardens on the web and see if they can answer that question. I bet someone on their staff would know.
