  1. Northern, Central and the northern portion of southern Europe are all heavily, if not predominantly populated by Teutonic/Germanic tribes, all of whom descend back to the Norse peoples.  These tribes were known as the Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Goths, Visigoths, Gauls, Franks, Russ, Lombard(i)s, etc.

The green eyes don't tell you anything.

At the time Vikings roamed and ruled, it was a rare individual who had a surname.  Ultimately the Norse/Scandinavian people popularized the individual use of "son" and "sen" as suffixes to their father's names, creating a "last name" for themselves.  E.g., Lars, son of John, is being confused with quite a few other folks named Lars, so he begins differentiating himself to others as Lars Johnson (Lars, son of John).

  2. If you google "vikings", you will find out that they went as far as the Black Sea and as far south as Spain.  Researching Germany, you will see that it did not become a country until the mid-1800s.  Further, if you opt for a DNA test (both the mtDNA for women to women and the yDNA for men to men) you are almost certain to find Viking blood.
