DR is wonderful all year around!!!  However, in the Summer, DR is especially great BECAUSE the fruits are ripened in the summer time.  There is NOTHING in this world like a Mango Banilejo!!! Fresh...Juicy... Sweet...  Now I wanna go back . . .

In June, it's hot and humid in most parts.  But it's like that year round.  We can have tropical rain storms that come and go pretty quick, within an hour.  On the north coast, you can catch the breeze from the ocean.  Places to check out are Puerto Plata which has Playa Dorado, Cofresi, and Costambar.  Also Cabarete and Cabrera.  Most tourist places have A/C so you can get a break from the heat when you need it.  In the center of the country, the tempatures are always cooler.  Places like Jarabacoa which has a variety of b and b type places.  The country is easy to travel by charter bus or hire a private driver, so you can see a lot from any location.  Or stay at the all inclusive and relax.

Also, kids will be out of school in late June just like the states.  In my city, the kids go to the rural areas for the summer while I see an influx in rural kids coming to the city to go to the beach.
