Were trains running from eastbourne to london on new years day 2008?

According to Southern:

Tuesday 1 January – an enhanced Sunday service will operate including additional hourly London Victoria to Brighton and London Bridge to Redhill trains. In association with TfL, we will be running a half-hourly service between London Victoria and East Croydon calling at all stations via Norbury between 0100 and 0500.

Unless there were engineering works on the line not mentioned here, I presume there will have been trains between Eastbourne and Victoria on New Years Day.

I am a signaller on the railway on the line between Leeds and Sheffield. All I can say is that trains were running on my line. I would think that trains were running wherever possible as we usually class it as a normal day. Sorry I couldn't help anymore.

Yes they were but only hourly instead of the usual 30 minute service.
