Were we too late??? Used Ovulation stick on Saturday?

Question

around 4pm and the lines matched! However, my husband and I were unable to "try" until Sunday evening (around 30 hours after!). Did I miss my time? Or, do the sticks show you are ovulating BEFORE you actually are? Should we "try" again tonight?

Your timing was perfect -- the sticks show that you will ovulate in 24 - 48 hours!  But if you really want, try again tonight!

When you get a positive ovulation reading it means that you will ovulate in 24 to 36 hours. Also once you have ovulated and the egg is released it is viable for up to 12 hours. So the best situation we can hope for is that you ovulated 36 hours after the positive reading and then you have 12 hours for the egg to be fertilized which would give you 48 hours out from Saturday at 4 PM. In that case you may not have been to late. If you look at the worst scenario and you ovulated 24 hours after you got the positive and then add your 12 hour viablity window that puts you at 36 hours post test taking which would make your 30 hour later attempt still good. However, I do not think BD tonight would be likely increase your chances as you would be past the best scenario time of 48 hours. Good luck and baby dust!

Usually the OPKs predict that ovulation will occur in the next 12-36 hours, so you may have been okay.  And, it never hurts to try again tonight.  Good luck and baby dust!

The sticks show positive during your fertile window, which is the 2 days prior to ovulation  If you caught the positive on the first day you still had the sunday to try and there definitely would be no harm in your trying again tonight.  Me and my bf the cycle that we got pregnant had s*x on the 2 days we were fertile and then once more the day after ovulation.  No idea which day got us pregnant but we are now 28 weeks gone after 2 and a half years of trying and I swear that it was the OPK's that gave us this miracle.
