  1. Have you tried Craig's list, or ebay, or the newspaper for used items?  I would look in those places first.

  2. craiglist is good, where I'm from there is an online bargain trader, but I don't know if it's other states than NC.  You could also try your state surplus.  Most states have surplus websites and they might have older canoes from state universities, and colleges, etc.  Finally, you could go to your community college websites and see if any of them have foundations.  Carteret Community College here in NC has a foundation that accepts donated boats from people who get tax write offs and then they resell them, sometimes at really low prices.  I've seen a few canoes on their site and maybe you can find something similar where you live.  If you check websites that sell boating fishing supplies, like Boaters World, they have some inexpensive inflatable kayaks.  Sevlyor is one brand.  Good Luck.

  3. You can't buy a canoe for around $100 even if it's used. The only thing that comes remotely close to a canoe for $100 or less is an inflatable kayak. Unfortunately, inflatable kayaks around that price range aren't suitable for fishing. The bottom is soft and you could flip over on one of those very easily.

Your best option is a float tube. They are designed for fishing and you could find them for under $100 brand new. Do not get those round ones because they are not as mobile compare to the newer U shaped float tubes. Draw back on float tubes is that you can't go too far out with those. You have to pay attention to currents too. Sometimes, going out is very easy but coming back is very difficult because you have to paddle/kick against the current.

  4. I've seen plenty of canoes for $100 to $150 on craigslist, and at garage sales.  Keep searching, and you will eventually find one.

  5. You might try looking into inflatable canoes, or kyaks

  6. Definitely Craigslist for something like that.

  7. i would look at garage sales and in the newspaper....maybe even boats and RVs magazine.
