Hi I am Home Schooled and am applying to BYU for fall 2008 semester. I was wondering if you have gotten into BYU and were home schooled, did you have a 27 on the ACT or higher? Or did you have below that and still got in? I know they say that it is recommended but I wasn't sure if that meant that you wouldn't be accepted if you got less than 27. Also what did your application contain like did you have a lot of volunteer stuff or did you have a high GPA? I'm just trying to get an idea of what they want. Thanks!

  1. BYU takes many things into consideration when you apply.  I actually had a very mediocre ACT and was accepted.  You MUST graduate from seminary, I know unless you are a recent convert.  Did you do high school through BYU?  There is quite a community of homeschoolers in the church so BYU is used to dealing with the "oddities" of the homeschooling paperwork.  A variety of activities is always good.  I assume you also have some good reccomendations from a variety of people.  I would call up the admissions office and see if they have any different requirements from homeschoolers.  Usually homeschoolers are sought after at many other prestigious schools.  Good luck.  There isn't a better place for college.  I loved it!!!

  2. i don't know the answer to your question but i am going on my mission soon to Phoenix Arizona and i am assuming your a member of the church. having your duty to god award helps. keep it cool ^^
