Were you born in another country and have a child or children who were born in the United States?

Why did you decide to name him/her/them an "American" name?

  1. kind of i guess lol.  I was born in germany, however i was born on an american military base where i was considered an american citizen anyways.  But i moved to the states when i was like 2 months old.  My daughter was born in the states and i named her an american name.  I dont know if this answered your question but i hope i helped lol

  2. Not me, but my friend is English and so are her parents, but during the time she was born- her dad was working in America, so she's counted as an American citizen though her parents are English.

They divorced and her Dad moved to Reno in the end- but my friend is called Daisy and has been living in the UK since she was little :)

and you were talking about 'American' names? She has a little half-sister called Allegra!

  3. My husband is Mexican and born in Mexico and came here when he was 10. I am 1/2 Cuban and 1/2 English born and raised in the US. My kids names are Jorge and Juliana...I just couldn't see myself naming my kids Aiden or Emma Dominguez....my BIL and his wife are having a baby in December...like my husband he was born in Mexico and his wife was born in Bulgaria and came here as a child as well and they are picking some really "white" names lol So we'll see :) But whatever they name her it doesn't matter...I'm sure she will be beautiful..I just think it should at least be a name that can be said in either language easily...I can imagine now, us going to Mexico and my husband's grandma can't even say the babies name lol Poor thing :)

but I expect then to give the baby an American name....his name is Luis and her name is Denislava :)
