  1. it was AWESOME why would you be embarrassed or disappointed? It may not have been as epic or to such a grand scale as the Chinese's opening or closing ceremony but it definitely had flavor and culture.

The transforming bus was too cool for school, the Leona Lewis/Jimmy Page performance was HOT, I thought it was totally awesomeness to the tenth power

  2. yes i was. that will show you how the london 2012 summer games wont be so good.

  3. It cannot be compared to the standards set by China.  You always save the best for your actual olympic.  You have to wait and watch the London 2012 olympics to make comparisons.

  4. it was great EXCEPT Leona Lewis and Jimmy Page.. the song wasn't that good. but the dancing and the umbrellas and David Becham was kind of cool

  5. i was indifferent.

why do brits keep posting "embarrassment" questions?!

  6. It was fine!

I dont know why loads of people have been critical of it. It isnt THAT important. It was to represent London and it did! Job done.

  7. I loved it - it was fresh, essentially British and centred on London.  I liked the used of the time signal in the music - we are the centre of time itself.

    Well done, all.  Can't wait.

    :-D

  8. YES I JUST WANTED IT TO STOP.

  9. It was OK. Trying to out do the Chinese is a waste of time and money.

  10. Not with our 8 minutes, but I cringed at Boris Johnson and his Ping Pong speech. Even though I am told that the Chinese will not be because the Mandarin translation of table tennis includes somthing like 'Ping Pang' It was still very embarrassing.

  11. its hard to show a country in 8 minutes, the performance has to have some value to the country and thats why it looked abit over the top and messy in comparison to the beijing performances.

after watching it 5 times it really isnt that bad and the leona lewis part only sounded bad because of poor sound coming from the stadium, funny how beijings singing parts sound quality yet their part ends up with an echo and tinnyness.

there were also limits to the floor space that could be used you have to remember it isnt our stadium and when we get to perform in our own full amount of space the performance is bound to be alot better.

  12. I thought it was ok except for terrible song choice. I don't know too much about British culture, but that song would be a bad choice for any culture.

  13. it looked cheap to be honest.

  14. At first I thought it was very cynical, but then I decided well, that is actually what London is like now, all political correctness and bad manners, so maybe it's just me being old-fashioned.  It needed to be something young and vibrant (Jimmy Page apart, who's just vibrant...) to reflect enthusiasm for the whole thing.  Not to my taste, but what do I know!

  15. it was ok but i didnt feel like there was any effort put into it

  16. What is so disappointing about it? Look what the Chinese did to the world now, robbed everyone of their pride and confidence.

  17. Good but not great, i like the bus transformation and the dance crew was cool, but the singer and guitalist didn't pick good song and is not loud enought, beckham did appera, but he wear a ugly outfit. Not necessary best way to show UK, since UK didn't even qualified for Eurocup this year.
