  1. lol u shouldve punched him ,thats what i do all the time haha

  2. I remember two incidents.  Once, a semi-truck in front of me performed an unsafe lane change, moving from the No. 3 lane to the No. 1 lane suddenly.  So, I slowed down.  A car that was behind me sped up, swerved around me, and the driver shouted an insult at me, complete with a racial slur.  I confronted him in a nearby parking lot (not smart, but I was angry) and told him, among other things, that if he wanted to use a racial slur, at least get the ethnic group right.  He didn't know how to react to that and left in a huff.

The second incident was much closer to yours.  I was walking on a college campus one day, minding my own business.  A total stranger was walking in my direction.  As he got within earshot, he looked me straight in the eyes and told me I was too fat.  Then, he just continued on his way.

  3. Sarcasm works well in these situations, but is not a good idea while at work.

Let your manager know a customer insulted you and let them handle it.

You can't help that some people are just idiots - why waste any time thinking about someone like that? Not worth it!

  4. LOL Sorry, but you wanted to punch the face of a total nobody for saying something you didn't like?

Lighten up.  It's not like you care what he thinks, and you're probably never going to see this person again.

  5. well take it like a joke , common your stronger than that a silly little saying that your white and need to tan is like a toddler saying that your fruits are to juicy and that you need to buy blander ones , ( sorry i know the examples stupid ) but same goes for his insult just some insane idiot that finds a joy in saying idiotic usefull jokes , but i know the first reaction can be tempting but you'll laugh at it in a few days ! good luck !

  6. aww, maybe they were trying to be helpful, and to answer the question no i have never been insulted by a stranger.

  7. Yes.  Someone said something similar to me.  I was down South on the coast of Georgia in a small island village.  A man walked up to me while I was standing on the sidewalk talking to a friend and told me I needed to tan.  I have red hair and am very fair skinned and do not tan.  Yep, I felt like punching him but I didn't.  That's called being mannerly and being civilized.  Sometimes people are just jerks.

  8. It seems to always happen at work.  I worked at a hotel and the wireless internet was down and an old lady came up to the desk with her laptop and wanted me to fix it.  I told her that the server wasn't working and there was nothing I could do about it.  Then she asked what was wrong with it and how it could be fixed and I told her that I didn't really know that much about it (that was when the wireless was still pretty new) and she told me (in a very nasty tone) "You need to get some knowledge about you, there's NO reason why you shouldn't know".  I took that as an insult.
