I sat down to watch this show with my daughter and was pleasantly surprised by the morals included by some of the cast members. Only because it is rare to see positive input by peers on broadcast television. Where do you think this show is headed?

  1. Yes, it was nice, but I think they were over doing it a bit on the 's*x subject'. It got really annoying. It seemed like EVERYONE was obessed with it and that was all everyone thought about at that school. Making Grace a Christian who stuck to her beliefs was really nice. I think Grace is one of my favorites. Her brother is nice too, he isn't like one of those annoying Mentally Challenged kids because their parents felt sorry for him and made him a brat. He was very tolerable and nice! The second episode was tons better! I hope they keep on getting better!

  2. Yeah, i watched it and was glad that they provided such an open idea of different lifestyles. It is better than the entire show revolving around one teenage girl who becomes pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised. I think the show is going to be a hit. But I have a feeling that the girl will be Christian girl will be tempted to have s*x. I was also glad to see that they made the one who is devoted to her faith the head cheerleader since it is a stereotype that all cheerleaders are "whores". It is a nice touch on the behalf of the writers. And her mentally challenged brother is so innocent and really adds to the story. I think that the show will be a hit because of its open viewpoints and how it can relate to so many people.

  3. Grace has great morals..but I have a feeling she will be led to bad things soon, and that's pretty depressing because I was pleasantly surprised that Grace and Jack were dating and could comfortably talk about such things with each other.

  4. im watching it now, and im suprised that the popular cheerleader is saving her virginity for marriage

  5. WE LOVE THIS SHOW it is really cool to watch. yes its kinda surprising the morals and that the girl is so popular but overall its an awsome show in my opinion

  6. it looked like a cheesy health movie to me.i would agree but i've seen better.

  7. I am watching it right now. I think it's a great show. It's addicting. I really like how they made Amy a good girl getting pregnant due to consensual s*x instead of something dramatic like rape. I love it. I have no idea where it's headed though.

  8. No if he was christian like he claimed he wouldn't be going around cheating and having s*x with another girl...

  9. I am watching it now and I also thought the popular gul wouldnt be a virgin

  10. i like it so far... :)

  11. I love the show, watching it now.

And as a Christian teen I WAS indeed impressed by the Christian standards the guy holds. Maybe he can rub it off on some of the other characters..

However, on the show they talk about s*x 24/7 at school. To me, that's not very realistic to real teenagers but I still love the show. Good question!

  12. I watched it too. Really good!

  13. i think it's good 2 i watching it i like it

  14. As a Pastafarian I can say those morals offended me and I hope the show gets canceled.

  15. Yeah im am impressed and im watching it now. The show is way better than degrassi.

  16. No, honestly I was annoyed.

I mean, it's nice to see the popular girl be a virgin and a Christian, but the whole show seems to show that only Christians are sexully pure. It's annoying.

EDIT: Go on and bring the thumbs down. I love my haters.

  17. I think it's great, however, in every scene, I found that they were talking about s*x. Every scene I saw, they were. It's a good show in that it's showing the girl's guilt, and I can't wait to see how it turns out, but I think in a way it can be a bad influence because of the sexual content. Life isn't alllllll about s*x. There's friends, school, sports, family, etc. and I think children are raised to the point that they know that, but I hope it does not influence a lot of young people in the future. Good question, by the way!

  18. I am watching it now. I'm very suprised that the popular girl is a Virgin. I was like wow differnet. I really like this show, it teaches you alot! (=

  19. I hate the fact that the show is called The Secret Life of the American Teenager like we're all getting knocked up.

It should be The Secret Life of AN American Teenager.
