Were you interested in the paranormal beforehand?

To those who believe they have had paranormal experiences, were you interested in the paranormal beforehand?

yea we have always been interested in the paranormal and always thought that there was more than what we see with our own two eyes.

now that we've had experiences it just clarified our feelings of the unknown.

I don't think so. my first experience was when I was 5 years old that I can recall...so I think it was more interested in me than I was in it.  Pretty sure I would not have been able to spell paranormal,much less knowing what it meant.

I have been interested in the paranormal for a long time.My dad was always a paranormal buff, so I guess he got me interested. But I didn't really start investigating and researching it until I had my first experience.

I have always been interested in the paranormal, as long as I can remember.  I have had many odd experiences, but it's hard for me to classify them conclusively as "paranormal".

Even though I have always been afraid of ghosts/spirits, it has always intrigued me for some reason. Even as a little kid I loved watching movies/shows/documentaries about them. And you can bet that Halloween is my ABSOLUTE favorite holiday!! I think I decorate my house/lawn more during Halloween than on Christmas, LOL.

I have always been interested in the paranormal but never was positive until I had my one and only paranormal experience last year.

I know this is probably the millionth time I have said this on YA. I do not care, I never want to forget it. I wish I would have marked the date.

No I was not. I have experienced the paranormal from when I was a young child. I saw a spirit which I know now is a demon. He looked transparent and he had no legs beyond his knees and I remember him looking at me and laughing. I was a child so I didn't know I should be afraid and I followed it into my parents room and he disappeared. Another time as a child, a demon (a spirit man I couldn't see and I could only hear) would tell me to do bad things etc. Anyway as I grew older I no longer heard that voice and I forgot about it. When I became a Christian however the demons started to appear out of the woodworks so to speak and I started seeing them. However my parents didn't believe me at all and I had to fend for myself. Eventually I began to learn that what I was seeing was real and I learnt that I needed to pray and ask God to protect me and I needed to rebuke them when I saw them. Then as time went on I learnt more and now I know what to do whenever they try to attack me.

Yes..I was raised Catholics and you're taught that saints can appear to people. We were taught some about the spiritual world.But a little learning can be a dangerous thing. I wish we had been taught a LOT about it...Then maybe I wouldn't have fallen into the trap I fell into....out of ignorance. You can be easily deceived in dealing with the spiritual world. You need to be taught discernment. I still don't have it so I try not to mess with it anymore. I tell my experiences so others can learn a little discernment from them. I believe we all need to be aware...but you can't spend your life in it because then you'll miss "LIFE".

I was 8 years old when we moved into our strange house.

I know that I liked scary movies at a really young age, but probably didn't think anything about it until I was a teenager.

My mother was a religious zealot, so my interests were not allowed to conflict with her beliefs, without hearing the fire and brimstone riot act got would inflict on my soul.

Well, this is what happened. It was about five years ago when we started hearing noises on our roof, and it wasn't a bird or an animal because it was obvious that it walked on two legs and it weighed a lot. My mom left the house early one morning and she was reaching out towards the door handle when we started hearing the noises again. It was walking from one side of the house to another, then stopping, and then walking back over again. When she turned the door k**b, whatever it was started running from the beginning of the house all the way to my bedroom and we heard it jump off. But when we went to look at the floor next to my bedroom, there was nothing...not even a twig out of place.

It was impossible for a human being to have gotten up there and then jumped off so quickly and not hurt themselves.

oh and then there was that one time when there was a possessed midget in our living room who made the walls bleed and then he disappeared through our mirror.
