  1. I was very nervous, but it becomes a necessity for getting around and having a life, so the nerves soon pass. I made sure I wasn't on my own the first few times. It just takes practice.

With gas prices to high I might not be driving so much anymore.

  2. First off, congrats on starting to drive! Being able to drive gives you freedom, so be happy :)

When I first started driving I was SO nervous cause I had no experience either, but my brother was w/ me and he was so calm and reassuring that I stopped being nervous. Big brothers are great :)

It's normal to be nervous cause driving is a huge responsibility, but like I said earlier, it's also freedom. I'm sure you'll be a great driver and have tons of fun :) I just hope you have someone to make you feel calm when you're first learning like I did.

  3. my first experience wasn't to bad,i had just bought an almost new mustang and thought i new how to drive ,the mustang showed me i needed to practice a lot,but i did get use to it,my knees was knocking together the first time i got behind the wheel and i was by my self,i sort of sneaked out without anyone knowing it,i did make it back home without wrecking the car though,i will admit i was very nervous especially when passing a cop going in the other direction,i thought anytime i was going to be caught, after i got home i didn't do that any more, good luck ,hope your first time was better than mine was

  4. omg dude i have 2 months until i can start driving and my brother tried to teach me and my legs started to shake lmaoo i no it sounds crazy but i end up lost and confused but i think we both need to concentrate huh...! hope u the best through driving and have fun!!!!!!!!

  5. Some people take to driving like fish to water.  Other don't.

But in general it is fairly easy and most people can learn to drive and comfortably.  Just don't pressure yourself.  Do it at a pace you are comfortable with.

If my brother and my 2 sisters can drive everyday, they you can learn to drive (and drive comfortably).  They all learn past 25 (and one of my sister past 35).  That is how disinterested they were.

    Good Luck...

P.S.  This is all in and around NYC traffic.
