  1. I am in the same position as you and yes i feel that way.

  2. Yes I was scared at first but you get the hang of it. It comes naturally to a mother.. even a father. My boyfriend was scared too but we're both fine. Don't worry! if u worry about it, it may happen :D

  3. No.  I was afraid that I would forget and leave her someplace, though.

  4. Im not due for another 5 days, but I am scared of dropping my baby. Ive never really had any experience with a baby and Im only 17 lol, so im sure that for the first few weeks up until I get the hang of things, Im going to be sitting on the couch or the bed while holding my precious baby boy :)

  5. Yes, mostly when going down the stairs.

also i used to really worry that i would damage his neck or break a limb when dressing him!

he is 4 weeks now and i am just getting used to the fact that he isn't made of glass or super slippery and you are so careful when you hold them that dropping is really unlikely.

babies really are precious and its normal to feel overly protective and concerned for there safety, it shows you will be a good parent!

good luck when/if  you do decide to have one of your own!!

  6. I'm terrified of it. I've had a couple friends either trip while coming down the stairs holding the baby, trip outside with the baby, or trip on something inside the house holding the baby. You can bet that I will be extra careful, but I'm really scared of my own clumsiness hurting the baby, you know? I've just heard so many horror stories and I want to keep my baby safe...but what if it needs to be kept safe from me? I would never intentionally hurt the baby....but if I tripped or lost my balance somehow and went down with the baby....I'd feel HORRIBLE.

  7. No.  Usually when you have a fear like that you will hold the head like it's your life in your hands, and it is! :)

  8. Yes but I never did.

  9. Before I had my daughter, I had hardly any experience with babies, aside from handing them back to their mothers when they cried.  :)  I was not so much afraid of the minutiae as I was with how I would handle being a mother in general.  I kept wondering, would I be patient enough?  Would I be a good mother?  I had wanted a baby so badly, so I reassured myself that if I was concerned about these questions that I would definitely be a good mother.

So in short, don't worry.  If you do everything you can to be careful, you won't drop your baby when you have one.

  10. i used to be so scared when pregnant i would drop my son.

but the second they gave me my son it was like second nature how to do everything he needed.

  11. I used to have dreams when I was holding my 4lb cousin I was SO worried that I was going to drop. And that's one of my fears now cause I am pregnant now. What's it going to be like when my own baby is here??? I'm going to have night mares!!

Oh another one of my aunt did drop her son, she was wearing a silk night gown and he slipped right out of her arms. He was fine I think she said that he didn't even cry.
