  1. Oh yea.  I was always told to wash behind my ears and I always did.  Sweat often hangs out back there as it forms around your hairline.  Also, dry skin builds up.

Now that I have kids of my own, if I don't wash behind their ears every night, they get VERY yucky.  There is literally a bunch of gunk and crust that builds up back there.  Just like your neck can get gunky and dirty if you don't clean it.  Surely you've seen little kids with dry, crusty yuck in the creases of their necks.  Especially on days that they are sweating and playing outside.  It happens behind their ears too.  Yucky.

  2. I think these instructions only applied to dirty little boys who never bathed...I don't EVER recall having to be told to wash behind my ears...I don't have to tell my kids this either, they shower twice a day...even my 14 year old son always has to SMELL good...these instructions of specifically washing behind the ears must of come from an Era when showering and bathing weren't a DAILY ritual...

  3. I use to never wash behind ears but when kids saw how dirty they were and made fun of me, I have washed ever since.....and yes, ears get dirty and smelly if you dont wash YUCK
