That is what I think. I think the bible was written when people were really gullible, a couple of people believed it and it just caught on. And now, more than half the world believes the lies.

The asker is not just talking about God and Christianity, he said RELIGIONS. Religious ideas basically came about as ways to explain how natural events occurred, which people did not know how they happened at the time. From there,over ages of history such as in the Middle Ages, religion was used to control and conform the populace to a common way of thinking.
