Then why do the conservative media, like CNN, keep referring to the Taliban as the “Insurgents?” Don't they know the meaning of the word? If you do not know, why not look it up in a dictionary? Didn't we, the U.S., over throw the Taliban? Then who are the insurgents?

  1. The Taliban were in control of the government in Afghanistan.

  2. Yes...the Taliban were a government in Afghanistan, before the US decided that would play king-maker in that country. They were not the best at governing, but what the US did was also not legal by international law.

  3. The Taliban were in fact the government of Afghanistan before the US invaded. We deposed them and they scattered to points all over the country.

In the years since the Taliban has regrouped, are attacking US and UN troops in the hopes of once again deposing the legitimate government.

Since they are fighting against the government of Afghanistan , they are insurgents.

  4. CNN is the most liberal "news" station out there?? Don't you mean Fox News is conservative?.....

  5. The Taliban was friggin funded by the US govt in the 1980s. How f*cking ironic.

  6. The Taliban were not recognized by the world community as a legitimate government.

  7. CNN is conservative?  LMAO

  8. Well, yes, the Taliban were the governing body in Afghanistan when the US invaded, but now they are trying to regain that power by fighting against the US-backed government of Hamid Karzai.  That makes them insurgents, just like the Sunni insurgents in Iraq, who were the ones in charge there before that invasion.

  9. CNN is a loud speaker for left-wing liberal democratic politicians and has never truely represented majority of Americans.

  10. absolutly, and they now use that equipment against us.and by the way, I still remember when we were doing that, they already told us that some day they would do that.but we still armed them, go figure.
