Pontus Wernbloom has warned his side to drop any more points in the Russian Premier League should they want to finish above Zenit and end up their long trophy wait this season
CSKA Moscow midfielder, Pontus Wernbloom, has urged his side to find consistency in their performances if they are to reclaim the Russian Premier League title this season.
The 26-year-old warned the Armeytsy to drop anymore points on the league table, pointing out that defending league champions, Zenit St. Petersburg, are waiting in the wings to leapfrog them.
Sunday’s 2-0 defeat against Rubin Kazan at Tsentralnyi stadium has reduced the points difference between the two teams at the top. As thing stand, CSKA are at the top spot on the league table. However, they are just three points
above second place Zenit.
“Fight in the championship is getting serious, but we are not under pressure. We lost a few points but we are still determined to complete with Zenit. They are a very strong team but we are not afraid of them.”
“They managed to leapfrog us the last time we had suffered defeats against Dynamo Moscow and Rubin Kazan last season. We have to work very hard now. The dressing room is full of confidence and we know that we have a fantastic chance
to win the league title this season.”

respectively.
The Swedish International, who joined the Moscow-based club last year after leaving http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar, went on to assure the fans of meeting their expectations this season after telling them that they will fight until the last round of
the Russian championship.
Going into the crunch league tie against the Grozny-based club at home, Zenit will be without http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436. The Brazilian International has not fully recovered from a muscle injury.
