Wes Brown says Ryan Giggs is the best of all time

Manchester United defender Wes Brown has said that Ryan Giggs is the greatest ever player to have graced the game of football.  The left sided midfielder from Wales made his debut for Manchester United in 1990-91 and after almost 2 decades he still looks good for many more years.
Giggs also hold the record for Manchester United for most number of appearances; he has played 838 matches for the Red Devils and is currently on tour with the team in United States.
Wes Brown in an interview was asked who he thinks is the greatest player; he said that there is no doubt in his mind that Giggs is the best, hands down.
He said that yes there are players like Maradona and Pele who almost everyone believes are the greatest of all time. Brown said if one takes a look at Giggs’ career and what he has managed to achieve over the years there is no one who comes close to him.
Brown said that there have been many players at the highest level who have played for long periods of time but most of them did fade away after few glory years, but Giggs is one man who has kept his standard high for 2 decades and that is just the hallmark of a legend.
He said that there is hardly anyone who can be compared to the great left winger, former Manchester United man Sir Bobby Charlton maybe the only player who can be put in the same league.
Wes Brown who like Giggs has been at Manchester United for his entire career said that he looks up to his team mate. He added not just him but most of the young players in the squad think of him as a role model. In the modern game one does not get to see such loyalty to one club by the biggest players in the world.
Ryan Giggs was part of the golden generation of Manchester United, when Giggs, Neville Brothers, Paul Scholes and David Beckham were part of the team at Manchester United that won the youth championship, and all of them made it to the senior squad and played with great distinction for several years.
Ryan Giggs is the only player to have won 10 Premier League titles and would love to make it 11 this season, which incidentally is also his jersey number for Manchester United. Ryan has also hinted that he would consider taking on the role of a manger once he hangs up his boots, he is now 36 and may be good for one more season or who knows maybe two.
Wes Brown meanwhile commenting on the World Cup said that he cannot explain in words how disappointed and disgusted he was. He said the disallowed Lampard goal is what triggered the downfall of England in that match. He added that had England got on level terms it would have been an altogether different game. Brown said that being a defender he knows that when the team is chasing a goal the defence is vulnerable and short on support from midfield. Germans thrive on their counter attacking football and that is precisely what they did.
Brown said it is high time that goal line technology is finally introduced in football; he said that a number of other major sports like Tennis, Cricket and Rugby have embraced technology then why should football be any different.
Brown went on to say that goal line technology is probably the most basic necessity of the game right now; in this day and age it is embarrassing to the whole football fraternity that something like (Lampard’s goal) happens.  He said the incident tarnished the image of the game and should be rectified soon.
