West Bromwich Albion are expected to announce the signing of Argentinean midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Yacob-c9331 later on today at a press conference.
The Baggies have been interested in the player for quite some time, with reports linking them to the Argentinean a week back. West Brom had conducted initial talks with the 25-year old, who is currently on the last year of his contract with Argentinean side

New Baggies boss Steve Clarke had revealed in a press conference earlier this month that West Brom will face considerable challenges in the coming season, which is why he intends on holding on to key players and adding new faces to the squad as soon as possible.
Yacob had previously been linked with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Manchester United, but sources tip West Brom as favourites for the player’s services. It is understood that West Brom held advanced talks with the 25-year old player last night in order to conclude the transfer,
but Brazilian side and big spenders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Botafogo-c38671 have attempted to sign the player by offering a more lucrative contract.
It is believed that the player had agreed to the terms and had also passed a medical at West Brom’s training facilities, but is now considering a move for the Brazilian side. West Brom are believed to offer the player a new and improved contract in an attempt
to convince him that his future lies with the Baggies.
Manager Steve Clarke has spoken about adding at least two more players once the Yacob deal is concluded. He said:
“I am probably still looking for another three players in all areas of the team and you always have to be looking to improve.”
“There’s no point in saying ‘that’s me finished’ because maybe someone will come on the market next week that you think will definitely improve the team, and if that happens you have to deal with it.”
West Brom currently face another problem as they try to fight off Qatari club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Odemwingie-c29794. The Qatari club have reportedly already bid around £4 million for the Nigerian, and are now preparing for an improved
bid.
