West Bromwich Albion are reportedly interested in Argentinean midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Yacob-c9331 as various reports have emerged today that state the club are currently engaged in talks with the player.
The Birmingham club are understood to have conducted initial talks with the 24-year old, who is on the last year of his contract with Argentinean side, Racing Club.
West Brom are still in the market for players as they look to strengthen their midfield and prepare for the coming Premier League season. West Brom manager Steve Clarke has admitted that the club faces a huge challenge next season and it will be difficult
to emulate the success they had achieved last season.
Yacob has previously been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United and is considered one of the brightest talents in Argentina. Sources in Argentina claim that West Brom have already held talks with the midfielder, but nothing is confirmed as of now.
Yacob operates as a holding midfielder and has been likened to fellow countryman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Racing-Club-c40301 and managed 100 appearances for them.
Yacob has capped twice for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ecuador-c2889, scoring one of the goals for his side.
The midfielder was apparently set for a move to Brazilian side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Botafogo-c38671, but transfer talks stalled and paved open the way for a potential move to Europe, with the Hawthorns looking like the most likely destination.
The Baggies are looking for midfield reinforcements ever since the club released http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Keith-Andrews-c20525 at the end of the 2011/2012 season.
The club signed last season’s on loan goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mali-c2951 international Tongo
Doumbia from French side Rennes. The midfielder was reportedly an http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 target but has snubbed the Gunners in a shock move and opted for West Brom instead.
After last season’s performances, the Hawthorns is looking to be a favourable destination for up and coming footballers.
Manager Steve Clarke will no doubt take full advantage of this opportunity as he looks to take over from Roy Hodgson and take the club towards a higher placed finish in the league.
