West Bromwich Albion interested in PSV Eindhoven’s Ola Toivonen – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports from Philips Stadion confirm that English Premier League outfit, West Bromwich Albion, have shown interest in signing PSV Eindhoven’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ola-Toivonen-c28363 in the ongoing summer transfer market. The Swedish International has performed impressively in the
recently concluded season and has attracted interest from a host of top European clubs.
Roy Hodgson, WBA manager, is a great admirer of the 24-year-old striker and believes that the Swedish International has the capability to shine at the highest levels. The 63-year-old tactician tried to lure the striker away from Philips Stadion last year
when he was employed by Liverpool, however, the Anfield club failed to meet the Boeren’s asking price for the striker.
PSV are in serious financial crises but do not intend to sell their starlets to clear off their financial woes. The 24-year-old’s current contract runs until the summer of 2012 but has an option to extend his contract for another two seasons with PSV. Furthermore,
after the successful transfer of Balazs Dzsudzsak to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Anzhi-Makhachkala-c39068, PSV would not like to lose another key player in the ongoing summer transfer market.
The Swedish International arrived at Philips Stadion in 2009/10 season and has become an integral part of the Boeren. Since his arrival, he has made 75 appearances, netting 34 goals in the process.
If rumours are to be believed, Fulham FC, Liverpool FC, Borussia Dortmund and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 are taking keen interest in the 24-year-old’s signature ahead of the 2011/12 season.
Reports suggest that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 are going to offer a contract extension to the Swedish International and have put a mammoth price tag on to their starlet to ward off interest from Europe’s elite.
However, with a long line of suitors ready to land Toivonen’s signature, it seems unlikely that PSV would be able to hold on to their prized asset. Reports suggest that an offer in the region of 15 million Euros would be enough to lure the striker away from
Philips Stadion.
