Blackpool played host to West Ham United at Bloomfield Road, in what was both the teams’ scheduled game in the English Premier League. Going into the game, West Ham were more desperate to pick up all three points as they were sitting
at the bottom of the Premier League table.
The line-ups for the match were as follows:
Blackpool: Kingson, Eardley, Cathcart, Baptiste, Carney, Vaughan, Taylor-Fletcher, Adam, Reid, Varney, Campbell
Subs: Rachubka, Southern, Evatt, Grandin, Puncheon, Harewood, Beattie
West Ham: West Ham United: Green, Jacobsen, Tomkins, Gabbidon, Bridge, O'Neil, Parker, Noble, Obinna, Keane, Piquionne
Subs: Boffin, Reid, Kovac, Boa Morte, Sears, Cole, Ba
The match kicked off with West Ham looking to be on some sort of a newfound determination and drive and as a result, the visitors were really taking the game to Blackpool.
As a result of this pressure, the Hammers got the breakthrough on the 23rd
minute, via some poor keeping from Richard Kingston. Victor Obinna went on to dance inside the Blackpool area and then let go of a half-decent effort; the ball went straight towards Kingston's hands, but the keeper somehow made a mess of things and let
the ball roll into the back of the net.
The next goal of the game came for West Ham on the 37th minute, via http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robbie-Keane-c31215. Obinna was once again the player to be causing all sorts of problems and he unleashed a shot that bounced off the palms of Kingston and
fell into the path of Keane, who made no mistake from eight yards out and rifled his effort into the back of the net.
Blackpool tried to get back in the game when they scored a dubious goal on the 42nd minute. Charlie Adam whipped in a corner that seemed like it would be cleared; however, the ball floated over everyone and nestled into
the back of the net and the scorecard now read two goals to one in favour of West Ham.
However, the game was killed off just two minutes later by Obinna. The striker, who was having one of those days, took a crack at goal from some twenty five yards out on the 44th minute and the ball then went on to zip
past Kingston and rippled into the back of the net and the game was as good as over.
The second half was more or less played out in the same manner as the first, where West Ham ran the show, with the only difference being that they couldn’t find the back of the net again and as a result the match ended with the
scorecard reading three goals to one in favour of the visiting West Ham United.
