West Ham United and Bolton Wanderers eying Sergio Canales
West Ham United and Bolton Wanderers are reported to be chasing Real Madrid's youngster, Sergio Canales. Canales, who is only nineteen years old, managed to make a move to Madrid at the end of last season and has so far managed
to play only ninety-four minutes for the team.
The teams are looking to try and make a season long loan deal for the player in the January transfer window, with the hope that the lack of playing time at Madrid would make the player opt to spend the next six months of the football
season in England.
Canales has won the Euro Championship with the Spanish U-17 side and he had been tipped to be next big thing in Spain, back when he was just fifteen years old.
Last season, he was voted the best young talent in the La Liga and with his growing reputation, it was only a question of when, and not if, a team like Madrid would move in for the player.
The player, despite not making many appearances for Madrid this season, cannot be labelled as a flop. This is because when he was signed, he was well aware of the fact that he would have to compete with the world’s best to get
a spot in the starting eleven and even then, he might not get the nod to play the matches. With Canales still being a teenager, Jose Mourinho has insisted that there are great things to come from the player, but in the future and not now.
That being said, if teams like West Ham and Bolton do make an approach for the player, to bring him in on a temporary basis, then Mourinho and Canales might see it as a golden opportunity for the players skills to be harnessed
and prevent him from getting rusty.
If the move is to go through, it would see Canales switch shores and come to England. Then, according to most experts, the player is more than likely to make a move to Bolton, over the struggling West Ham, as in the past Mourinho
has admitted to be impressed with the coaching style that Owen Coyle follows at the club.
