West Ham United mid-fielder Scott Parker receives FWA award - EPL News
West Ham United midfielder, Scott Parker has been nominated as the Footballer of the Year 2011 by the Football Writers’ Association. Parker has been very consistent with his mid-field performances for the Hammers throughout the season despite his team struggling
in the relegation zone in the English Premier League.
At present West Ham are 19th in the Premier League table after collecting just 32 points from 33 games, with just five games remaining in the season, the Hammers face an up-hill battle to maintain their top flight status.
Many pundits believe that if it was not for the 30-year-old’s determined performances, the Hammers would have been relegated by now.

holding mid-fielder.
FWA chairman Steve Bates is all praise for Parker and believes that the player is worthy winner of the award.
He said, "Scott Parker has been so consistent this season with his performances in a West Ham team battling for Barclays Premier League survival and as such has forced himself back into the England national set-up. He has been an inspirational figure for
the Irons and hopefully his professionalism will be rewarded with West Ham staying up at the end of the season.”
