West Ham United tracking 15 players in the January transfer window
West Ham United’s co-owner David Gold has come out and revealed that the club is tracking about 15 players at the moment. The players in question can be signed by West Ham United in the upcoming January transfer window. The influx of new players is set to
be regarded as Gold’s attempt to assist the current manager, Avram Grant in his effort to keep the Hammers in the English Premier League. West Ham United suffered a brutal relegation battle last season under Gianfranco Zola but eventually managed to retain
their Premier League season due to some favorable results at the end of the 2009-2010 season.
In the summer, the club parted ways with Zola who was seen as a main cause of West Ham’s struggle. The club’s hierarchy replaced Zola with the ex-Chelsea and Portsmouth manager, Avram Grant. Under Grant, West Ham United have hardly improved their form as
they have been one of the worst sides in the 2010-2011 season thus far. The Hammers are currently at the bottom of the English Premier League table as they have only managed to gather 17 points from a total of 20 games. Gold will be hoping that new recruits
in the January transfer window will allow West Ham to rise up to the challenge of retaining their English Premier League status once again.
Gold said, "We've got 15 irons in the fire, and I mean that literally. We're just concentrating on incomings, and if you get three, you've done well. There's a lot of secret stuff going on; we're trying to outwit our competitors” With the football transfer
market already inflated in prices thanks to the dealings done in the summer transfer window by Real Madrid and Manchester City, West Ham might have to pay over the top for some of their targets.
West Ham’s co-owner further revealed, "We're after a player who is the same type of player one of our competitors is looking for, and we want to keep that as quiet as we can and complete the deal."
West Ham play their next league encounter against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Upton Park stadium. The tie is seen as a six pointer relegation battle as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 are also fighting relegation at the moment in the English Premier League. Grant will be looking
to guide his team to a win against Mick McCarthy’s squad at their home stadium in London.
