West Ham United will still have money to spend in the transfer market
West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has confirmed the club will have money to spend on transfers despite debts that will accumulate over the Olympic Stadium.
West Ham is one of the clubs looking to move into the Olympic Stadium as an upgrade from current ground Upton Park. The plan is to decrease capacity to 60,000 and Brady insists the club's plans are rock
solid.
"We have been planning our bid, let us not forget this, for the last 12 months.
Everything we are doing has been meticulously planned and well worked out," she said as reported on the Sky Sports website.
She admits the club has gone through every single minor detail in order to make sure there are no problems in the immediate future with West Ham's bid.
This includes making sure the club does encounter financial problems as a business that would hamper manager Avram Grant's ability to go out and sign players to make the
squad better.
"This is a not a last-minute application. I think that if you think
about it the hint is in the title, it is the Olympic Park Legacy Company and that is what it is intended to be," she added.
Brady says the move to use the Olympic stadium makes sense for a variety of reasons because it would allow West Ham to attract bigger grounds and it is geographically close
to Upton Park. A bigger crowd is going to be vital in terms of paying wages and paying off the debt of adapting the stadium.
"The stadium is less than two miles away from us and in our own borough. We
think that it sits comfortably with what we want to do and it should get the legacy it was promised," she said.

West Ham can benefit from a move to this stadium. Despite Brady's comments that the bid has been well planned, there is no ignoring the fact that relegation to the Championship
would increase the strain financially on the club. For now, keep backing West Ham to win at Upton Park.
