West Ham United head coach, Sam Allardyce, has expressed confidence regarding his side’s chances of avoiding relegation come the end of the 2012/13 season.
The Hammers are currently occupying the 14th spot on the Premier League table, six points clear of the drop zone. With nine games left to play before the end of the ongoing campaign, the 58-year-old tactician is confident
that his side will manage to claim enough points that will prolong their stay in the English top flight.
“You are always looking at what could happen and what couldn't. But my belief in our own record and our performances this year say we're good enough to secure the points we need to be safe”, Allardyce was quoted as saying to the
club’s official website.
The English trainer went on to urge his troops not to look at other teams that how they are performing, but to focus on performing on the pitch that will help them stay clear of the drop zone come the end of the 2012/13 campaign.
“At the end of the day it's not about Wigan being six points off us, it's about us getting to 39 points. It wouldn't matter what Wigan do then or anybody else. Not all of them will get to 39 points and that's us. The bottom line
is, no matter how they get on, you get to 39 points or more and you're alright”, Allardyce concluded.
The Hammers suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863 helped the Blues to claim all three points at the end of 90 minutes.
However, Allardyce would be hoping that his side manages to stage a better show and secure a good result in their next Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday, March 30.
