West Ham midfielder Scott Parker fears relegation and urges side to win last two games – EPL news
West Ham United midfielder, Scott Parker, fears his side will be relegated at the end of the season after registering poor results throughout the term. He admitted that the only thing they can do now is to win the remaining two games in the league and hope
for the other results to go their way.
West Ham have had a catastrophic season this term despite investing in a lot of new players last summer. They are currently bottom of the English Premier League table with 33 points with only seven wins and 17 losses.
Parker admitted that the Hammers do not have a good chance of surviving in the Premier League this season. He stated that the chances of avoiding the drop are minimal but stressed that a win in the next two games could be vital. He suggested that two wins
for the club in the next two games, and some results going in their favour could be a blessing in disguise.
“It's not looking good. It's out of our hands a bit even if we win both our games. I would be lying if I said we had a good opportunity of surviving but there's still a slight chance we can do something. All we can do is win our final two games and then
see what happens. You never know,” the midfielder was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Newcastle United man also expressed his delight on winning the Football Writers’ Player of the Year. He said that he was surprised to have won it and rated it as a great achievement in his career.
“I am staggered I have won and am very, very proud. This is a massive thing, when you look back at the people who have won this award in the past, especially someone like the great Bobby Moore, to think my name will be alongside them is pretty special for
me,” the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international concluded.
West Ham still have to play two games until the end of the season, an away game against Wigan Athletic and a clash against Sunderland at Upton Park.
