West Indian players lacking consistency, feels Ottis Gibson – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ottis-Delroy-Gibson-c80358, the West Indies coach, feels that his team is talented enough to compete at the highest level of the game but they struggle to deliver the goods consistently.

West Indies is currently touring http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and have already lost both the Test matches played so far at Lord’s and Trent Bridge. However, unlike previous years, the Caribbean men have shown a lot of fighting spirit in the series and have been appreciated
by all the cricket analysts. However, the visitors have failed to dismantle England, despite being in very strong positions in different stages of the series.

Some of the senior West Indian players, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Bravo-c1379 have not able to take part in the Test series because of their commitments in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The young top-order batsmen have miserably failed to cope with the likes
of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711.
However, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 coach thinks that the young batsmen have the potential to make it big in international cricket but they struggle with the temperament. The former fast bowler is of the opinion that the team needs to be mentally strong.

Gibson expressed that the only way to beat top teams in Test cricket is to play outstanding cricket for a period of five days.

"It is not entirely a technical thing. It is being able to repeat your skill over and over again. That is what top teams in the world do: they test your technique; they test your character; they test your mental strength. Perhaps that is where we are
falling short. They are doing the hard work but they are not doing it for long enough," said Gibson.

The last Test of the series is going to commence from June 7th, 2012 at Edgbaston and the West Indies coach is hoping for an improved performance.

He added, "We have got a good week off to go back and sort of reflect on where we are the moment and what we can salvage out of the rest of the series."
The Test series will be followed by the limited-overs portion of the tour and cricket fans are hoping that the senior players will be back in the Caribbean side.
