West Indies’ Runako Morton dies in car accident – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RS-Morton-c2375, West Indies’ controversial cricketer, was killed in a car crash on March 4, at 11pm local time, after he rammed his vehicle into a utility pole on the Solomon Hochoy Highway in Chase Village, Trinidad, while returning home from a club cricket
match. He was 33 years old.
Morton made his international debut in 2002, and last played for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. His international career spanned 56 ODIs (during which he scored 1,519 runs at an average of 33.75), seven Twenty20s, and 15 Tests
(during which he scored 573 runs at an average of 22.03). He also played for Leeward Islands, Nevis, and Trinidad & Tobago.
Following his sudden death, tributes poured in from all quarters.

on his team during his tenure as captain.

Unfortunately, despite his obvious passion for the game, the troubled player suffered from inconsistent form, and remained embroiled in controversies throughout most of his career.
In 2001 he was expelled from the West Indian Academy, owing to regulation breaches, and one year later, in September 2002, he was dropped from the side when he opted out of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Champions Trophy after lying about the death of his grandmother.
He continued to court controversy in 2004, when he was arrested, and later released in regards to a stabbing incident. His latest trouble with the law was in 2011, when he was found to be in possession of marijuana during a domestic match.
However, Gayle, who is no stranger to controversy himself, encouraged others to adopt an understanding attitude in regards to Morton’s troubled life.
“Morton (has) been through a lot in his life. We all make mistakes! But he was making changes to be a better man,” he tweeted.
