Well a big Congratualtions is going out to our openers in Simon Katich and Phil Jaques..Both reached their centuaries to take Australia to a prime position of 3/330 at close of play...

Phil Jaques scored a brilliant 108 before been dismissed..

Simon scored a Teriffic,UN beaten 148..

This was an OUTSTANDING performance by our 2 openers, they put up a mammoth 223 partnership stand!!

Currently at close of play on Day 3 Australia sit in a comfortable 3/330...

That is a lead of 335 Runs ....

My Question:What do you think will be Simon Katich's score?

Do you think Ricky will declare?(Tomorrow is Day4)...

What score do you think Ricky should declare at?? ........

  1. I hope Katich will get a double ton

Still two days left so plenty of time for him to reach the milestone before Ricky declares

I reckon about 450 would be a good enough score to make the declaration.

    Go Aussies

  2. visit http://www.cricketanytime.net

for rest of the test match

  3. maybe another 20 or 30 runs for katich

i recon punter will declare at tea if we last that long with a lead of 450-500

the windies will make a good effort but fall about 150 short

more if we can finaly get chanderpaul out

  4. Yeah what a day the boys had at the crease..

Well done to both of them,it's great anytime our boys get a 100 but to have 2 do it on the same day is even better..

Well if the Kat is on 148 i'd say he will reach somewhere around 170,i then think Ricky might declare, which would give the Aussies a good lead of somewhere around 400+....

But knowing Ricky he will push as far as he can so i would'nt be surprised it he dos'nt declare until we have a lead of 450-500....

We have the men to be able to get that sort of lead, but what ever way you look at it i rekon we have this one in the winners bag...

  5. Yeah, that was a good opening partnership between Jacques & Katich.India needed one such yesterday though.Simon katich can score a double hundred or he may not, lol.

I think even though 2 days are left,Australia will add more than 150 runs & declare.Target off 500 is more than enough. They should be looking to destroy West Indies.Lets see.

  6. Hi Ange

    To put it simply!

I think Katich will score 218 runs! (just a random guess)

And i think Ponting should bat another 2 sessions (100 a session) leaving Aus with a massive 500+ lead, meaning Australia cant lose the match! so they cant draw the series.

  7. Since Australia already have a comfortable lead, they will try for aquick runs on day 4 and as such Simon Kaitch will not be able to score a double century.  I strongly feel that Ricky Ponting will declare after getting an overall lead of 450 runs.

  8. Yeah simon kat will score 200+ and aussie's will declare at 450+ that will see that will leave a tea and a day to bowl windes out .

  9. Yeah good stuff Katich. Great to see him amongst the runs and he so deserved the chance back in the baggy green and he hasnt let anyone down.

  10. I don't think he will get many more then that, after having got that, his guard will be down tomorrow & he will go fairly quickly i should think. I hope Ponting doesn't declare too soon. Remember S.Africa! lol
