There has also been a recall for Adrian Barath, who missed the Test leg of the Bangladesh tour after suffering a hamstring injury. The player suffered cramps in the first ODI against the Bengali Tigers and was retired hurt after making 21. He consequently
missed the next two one-dayers and was later replaced by the omitted Simmons in the five-day arena.
Simmons, who scored his maiden century in the opening one-dayer, was also in prime form in the second match as well, stroking a handsome knock of 80, which clinched the ODI series. However, his return in the longer format of cricket was poor, where he could
only manage scores of 7 and 44 in the first Test match.
He was omitted from the ongoing 2nd Test and was replaced by Kieran Powell, who scored a solid knock of 72, and now the selectors have decided to axe Simmons while keeping faith in the youngster.
Also the remaining squad has a familiar look with Denesh Ramdin retained as the second wicket-keeper behind Carlton Baugh. The middle-order is pretty much the same while Shane Shillingford is the second spinner in the team.

concluded ODI series.
