West Indies formally recall Chris Gayle for ODIs - Cricket News Roundup – Part 1 – June 05, 2012
Hard-hitting West Indies opening batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, scheduled to begin from June 16.
A statement by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 Cricket Board (WICB) on the matter said, “Directors of the West Indies Cricket Board recently met by teleconference and are pleased that consistent with his previous commitment Mr Chris Gayle has made himself available for selection to the West Indies team."
Gayle would be ending his 15-month hiatus from international cricket by taking part in this series as he was excluded from the international team after developing severe differences with the cricket board by criticising their polices.
Bangladesh’s recently appointed coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Richard-Alexander-Pybus-c84844, is hoping to help the younger players of the national team in improving their performance in the coming months.
“I look forward to working with the young group of players, help them improve and identify the key areas where we need to work. It's about maximising the potential we have," said Pybus.
Pybus was named as the coach of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-Grant-Law-c91460, who resigned from the post.
Pybus is expected to prepare the team for the upcoming T20 World Cup that will take place in September-October in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
According to reports from Sri Lanka, eight http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088 have signed the central contracts offered by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
"Malik signed the contract followed by others including the national T20 captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859 and some of the younger players in Sri Lanka and handed it over to the manager," one source confirmed.
The contract signing became a controversial matter when senior players including Test skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 refused to sign the contracts before departing for Sri Lanka and chose to consult their lawyers prior to accepting the central contracts.
According to insiders, some players are not happy with the 25 per cent raise in the monthly salaries and 10 per cent increase in the match fees, demanding more, however, the PCB has not budged so far in front of the demands of the players.
