West Indies high performance team to embark upon Bangladesh expedition in September - Cricket News Update
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 High Performance Team is set to embark upon a tour to Bangladesh, where they would take on the Bangladesh A and the BCB National Cricketing Academy teams in Khulna and Dhaka. This expedition is part of an exchange program between the BCB
and the WICB, and follows http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 A’s tour to the Caribbean, which took place in 2011.
The tour will commence on the 12th of September and is expected to last 3 weeks. The duration of the tour is disputed however, as according to the Daily Sun, the tour is said to comprise of 25 days and will consist of two four day games, three
ODIs and three T20 matches.
The trip begins with the West Indies High Performance Team arriving in Dhaka on the 12th of September. They are then going to travel to the banks of the Rupsha and Bhairaib Rivers in the Khulna District, where practice sessions will take place
till the 15th. The first four-day match will then take place on the 16th and go uptol the 19th against the National Cricket Academy Team. The venue for the four day match will be the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imtiaz-Sheikh-c64290 Abu Naser Stadium.
The second leg of the tour will begin when the team travels to the capital, Dhaka. They will play their second four day match against the Bangladesh A team at the Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, which has just recently hosted the Bangladesh Premier
League of 2012 and the Asia Cup.
The one day games will commence from late September onwards, where the First ODI will be played against the same opposition on the 28th of September. The 2nd and 3rd ODI’s will be played on the 30th of September
and on the 2nd of October respectively. The T20 series will follow the one dayers, where two consecutive games will be showcased on the 4th and 5th of October.
This series is likely to follow the eagerly anticipated, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Karnataka-c801 State Cricket Association and will feature local first class teams. The event which
will run from July 27th to the 14th of August, will feature Test players such as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahadat-Hossain-c2480. The venues chosen for the SDI tournament are Mysore and
Bangalore.
The Bangladesh A team are placed in Group A along with the KSCA Colts and the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Baroda-c769 Cricket Association XI for the upcoming tournament. They will play their opening game on July 27.
