The West Indies have just announced their line up for the 1st Test starting on Thursday 22nd at Sabina Park in Kingston.....

Here is their line up,but note that they have just announced that they have also lost Chris Gayle to an injury that occured in their last ODI match against Sri Lanka...

HOW DO YOU THINK THIS LINE UP WILL GO AGAINST AUSTRALIA'S line up?/..How will the loss of yet another high profile player effect the team???

Squad: Ramnaresh Sarwan (capt).... Dwayne Bravo (v-capt)...Sulieman Benn.. Shivnarine Chanderpaul... Fidel Edwards..., Ryan Hind... Amit Jaggernauth.. Runako Morton.. Darren Sammy.. Devon Smith... Brenton Parchment.. Daren Powell... Denesh Ramdin.. Jerome Taylor....

AUSSIE LINE UP-To Be Announced,M.Clarke leaves for West Indies on Thursday so will not be in 1st Test match.......

  1. For Aus - it should not matter who plays and I think it should be

a series cake walk. Given the depth of Aus batting, bowling

and fielding it should give them an edge and expect them to

    win 3-0.

WI have few new faces in their team and do not have the batting depth. Bowling is OK, nothing other than decent line

up. But they have an advantage playing at home. Even with

Gayle, I do not see them winning any tests. At the best WI can

hope to draw couple tests - that alone is a victory to them.

Aus should give opportunity to Katich and I bet he will play the

    first test.

  2. The West Indies will lose with or without Gayle!.

Gayle was actually the captain for the test and ODI's vs Sri Lanka so not only will West Indies miss his devastating batting, but they will miss his captaincy too!!. West Indies batting line-up will rely entirely on Sarwan and Chanderpaul's performance! The other batsmen are not good enough to get in any other side around the world!. There bowling attack is average!! They havent got a world class seamer in there team and there lack of spin options is evident too!!.

Australia will win and win comfortably against one of the worst West Indian sides ever.

Katich should play infront of Hodge!. Katich had a fantastic summer!! he is full of confidence!! he is a good player who should make runs in the series

  3. Ange, it's ages since I saw the Windies play & I have no idea about their players i'm afraid, but as for the Aussies, I am pleased to hear Clarke will go. I never did like Katich, so I would like to see Hodge get the nod. But my main interest will be in seeing how Haddin shapes up.

  4. Well loosing Gayle they will be in trouble,Gayle has been their main man since the retirement of Brian Lara, and it is a pity Samuels has been kicked out cause he was always a match winner for them too...

I think with the loss of another big name is going to put thier series with Australia in big jepoardy...

I think the Aussies should go with Katich, not saing Hodge is'nt a good player but Katich has a bit more to offer the team...

Yeah not many names that ring a bell in their team and yes it has been too long since we last played the W-Indies....

  5. Theres nothing i'd like to see more then theWindies put up a decent fight. They were a great team at one time, plus they always seem to have a whale of a time just playing. Great guys. I think Katich will be a big factor in filling in for Clarke, but i'm happy to hear Clarke is going after all.
