The International Cricket Council’s (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jeffrey-John-Crowe-c66798, has imposed a fine, equal to 10 percent of the match fee, over Rampaul while he also lessoned Sammy for breaching the code of conduct, with his behavior, which was antagonistic
to spirit of the game.
Crowe revealed that the 26-year-old Rampaul was found guilty of committing a level-1 offense. The pacer breached clause 1.3, which relates to “Showing dissent at an umpire’s decision”.
Crowe announced, “Just like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ghante-Vasudeva-Murthy-Ravi-c59951 stood his ground and gestured to both the umpires on being given out. Darren, who was eventually given not out, immediately looked to influence the umpire as to where the ball
struck him”
The whole controversy started when Rampaul was adjourned out on a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Short-c90107 ball, which according to the batsman should have been called a no-ball, since the bowler had already bowled two over the shoulder deliveries.
Umpires differed from Rampaul and the batsman eventually had to take the long walk back to the pavilion.
The 27-year-old Sammy, on the other hand, pointed to his forearm when a delivery from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harbhajan-Singh-c61453 bounced more than expected, and after hitting his forearm, it went straight into the air kissing Sammy’s helmet on the way.
Though, standing umpire http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Daryl-John-Harper-c52530 made the right decision, but the match referee noticed the entire scene and later called in the player.
Both Sammy and Rampaul have accepted Crowe’s decision.
Earlier, Indian cricketer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/A-Mishra-c871, on Wednesday, was also fined 10 percent of his match fee by the match referee for similar conduct.
Crowe said, “Batsmen are taking too long to leave the crease after being given out. Whether it is just disappointment, it's still disrespectful and, as the code clearly states, unacceptable.”
Second Test match of the series will begin from Tuesday, June 28, and will be played at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
The Caribbean side will be looking to level the series while the Men in Blue would want to seal the series with the victory.
