West Indies storm into the ICC World Twenty20 final - Cricket News Roundup – Part 1 – October 06, 2012
West Indies on Friday secured a placed in their first ever ICC World Twenty20 final after beating
Australia by 74 runs in the semi-final played at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
The decision to bat first did wonders for West Indies as the batsmen prevented the bowlers from dominating the game and then going berserk in the dying moments of the game to take the score of 205.
From West Indies, Gayle was the best batsman for staying unbeaten after smacking 75 off 41. He was also named as the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Australia were then left in ruins as they faltered on a score of 131 with their skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/George-Bailey-c1480 as the top batsman for scoring 63 runs.

The star Friday’s semi-final, West Indies opener Chris Gayle believes that his side will beat Sri Lanka on Sunday to win the ICC World Twenty20.
In his post-match interview, the hard-hitting batsman said, “World Cup is definitely ours, sorry Sri Lanka, but I think it is our World Cup. The support will be more for West Indies on Sunday. We love Sri Lanka, but sorry, it is going to be West Indies all
the way. The final will be a good final but we will be on top, definitely."
“We needed this victory badly and I am overall happy with the performance. Australia have been playing well so far, and to turn the table on them today was very pleasant," he added.

"If http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 can get Gayle out for under 20, they will win. But if they don't, the West Indies will prove too strong,” said Bailey when asked who will be his favourites to win the final.
