Curators have promised a batting friendly wicket for the second One Day International of the five-match series to be played at the Dr. YSR Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on Friday, December 2, 2011.
The wicket has been prepared by the chief curator of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andhra-c764 Cricket Association,  Nagamallaiah. BCCI's south zone curator, PR Viswanathan, has also assisted Nagamallaiah in the preparation of a wicket full of runs for Friday’s day and night match.
The director cricket operations of ACA, MSK Prasad said that the curators have prepared a traditional Visakhapatnam strip that would offers plenty of runs in both the innings.
"It's always been batting friendly wicket here,” said Prasad while talking to the media reporters ahead of the match. “It has nicely been rolled and the ball will come nicely on to the bat. Both the teams will look to put up a good score," the former Test wicketkeeper of India added further.
He also played down the role of dew under lights, saying that though it would be there but would not make a "huge difference".
Prasad further said that the wicket did not have much to offer to the spinners.
"It would be the seamers who have to do the task," said the former Indian pacer.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 has so far played three matches at the venue, winning all the three. The unbeaten run at the venue would definitely boost the confidence of hosts.
The last match hosted by the venue was between India and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, played on October 20, 2010, in which the hosts had chased down a daunting 290-run total in the penultimate over with five wickets intact.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RG-Sharma-c2309 was also hopeful of extending their unbeaten run at Vizag.
"The wicket here is batsmen-friendly. We will try to keep that record intact. We want to focus on our preparation and we have to take it from there. We don't want to think too far ahead," he added further.
Virender Sehwag-led men in blue managed a one-wicket escape in the first ODI of the series played at Cuttack earlier this week and currently lead the five-match series 1-0.
