The Caribbean side was defeated in all the three formats of the game by the Poms as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJG-Sammy-c1382 and company failed to win a single international match on the tour.
West Indies is generally considered to be much stronger in limited-overs sport because of a powerful batting line-up but they failed to make an impression against the British.
However, they have a massive chance to make amends and regain confidence against the Black Caps, who are also going through a rebuilding phase in the international arena. The two-match T20 series will be followed by five One Day Internationals and a couple
of Test matches.
The T20s will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, on Saturday and Sunday. This is the first time that West Indies will play a bilateral series in the United States of America.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Richardson-c85395, who himself is a former West Indies captain, feels that the conditions in Florida are quite similar to those in the Caribbean and his men will love playing there. The former batsman expressed that the pitch is likely to be batting friendly and
the fans should witness high-scoring encounters.
He said, "There's lots of sunshine here so the guys are going to enjoy that. We're accustomed to the sun on our backs. I don't believe the ball is going to move around as much as it did in England."
The former captain further added that his team should enjoy the crowd’s support as well because there are a lot of West Indians living in Florida, who should come to watch the two T20s on the weekend.
"There are a lot of West Indians here and they are backing us to do well. They have made their homes here in the United States and they still have West Indies in their hearts. As a team we really appreciate the kind words and we really want to win for them
this weekend," Richardson added.
