West Indies v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 – 2nd Test - 2nd Day’s Update
Australia 311 v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 49/3 (25.3 ov) - West Indies trail by 262 runs with 7 wickets remaining in the 1st innings
Australia is in a commanding position in the second Test match of the series against the West Indies, which is being played at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain. At stumps on day two, the tourists had bagged three wickets while giving away 49 runs.
West Indies still require another 262 runs to erase Australia’s first innings total and they have seven wickets in the hand.
Australia kicked off day two with an overnight score of 208 and they had five wickets in hand. The veteran batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Wade-c1933 had 11 runs to his name.
The tourist’s did not get off to the start that they would have hoped for as Wade became the first causality of the day.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KAJ-Roach-c1758, the West Indian pacer, set a nice trap for the batsman. The speedster bowled an in-swinger upfront and followed it with a full pitched delivery that swung away, enticing the batsman into playing a shot and he subsequently edged the ball to first
slip, where http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DM-Bravo-c1386 took a good low diving catch.
With Wade gone the Australians were stranded at 208 for the loss of six wickets. The visitors needed someone to lay support to Hussey, who has the ability to guide the Aussies out of such precarious situations.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/N-Deonarine-c2051, who is fast becoming the strike spinner
in the West Indies bowling attack, brought an end to Hussey’s (73) innings.
Pattinson (32) soon followed and it was the returning spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Shillingford-c2397 who claimed his wicket. West Indies picked the remaining two wickets fairly quickly, as Australia’s innings came to a close at 311.
Australian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BW-Hilfenhaus-c1204, the right-arm pacer, who brought Australia the first breakthrough by picking up the wicket of
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kraigg-Brathwaite-c71708.
On the other hand, Beer put Adrain Barath out of his misery when he trapped the batsman in front of stumps in the 13th over. Pattinson picked the final wicket of the day, when Kieron Powell was adjudged lbw on the first delivery of the 16th
over.
Bravo and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Chanderpaul-c2390 still occupy the crease with 16 and 1 run to their names respectively.
