Hosts West Indies are considerably well on their way towards a victory against Australia in the three-Test finale with only 197 runs away from chasing down a target of 370 runs with the final day of play remaining at Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica.
With 173 runs on the board for the loss of five wickets, West Indies have a chance of levelling the series, but the only problem for them is that their main batsmen are already back in the pavilion and they now need to give a magical performance against the likes of Australia, a side which is leading the series by 1-0.
With 328 runs already scored in their first innings, the Aussies were looking to enhance their lead in the second innings, however, the way things went they fell short around 50 to 60 runs, which prevented them from sealing the deal.
The day started with the tourists resuming their second innings after hammering 200 runs at stumps on the third day with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RJ-Harris-c2330 on four.
On the penultimate day, the roles were clear; it was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harris-c61739’ job to hold his end while Hussey faced maximum deliveries to score runs.
The duo knew that they were their team’s last hope of forging an insurmountable total on the board, enough to rattle West Indies.
However, Hussey became the first wicket of the day to fall, as after moulding an innings of 32 runs, the batsman finally had to walk back to the pavilion, leaving his team standing on 220 runs.
With Hussey gone, West Indies sought this as an opportunity to wrap-up the innings, however, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MA-Starc-c1871 stayed on the wicket for a while to add to the miseries of the fielding side as the batsman belted an innings of 21 runs to help his side amass 259 runs at the end of the innings.
West Indies, beginning their run chase, suffered the demise of two early wickets with only 28 runs on the board.
However, the hosts climbed back in the game after tea as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Chanderpaul-c2390 (69) forged a productive partnership to halt the Australian onslaught.
Finally with Bravo back in the pavilion, Chanderpaul was the last wicket of the day before stumps.
