The blazing West Indian all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andre-Dwayne-Russell-c44235, has aimed to become a legendary cricketer for his country, vowing to continue the good work in the future.
Russell hit a marvellous unbeaten knock of 92 runs and steered his side to a challenging total of 225 in the third One Day International (ODI) against India at Antigua, on Saturday, June 11, 2011.
Although, the Windies lost the game by three wickets, Russell was impressive with his fabulous show with the bat. It was not only Russell’s best innings in ODIs but also the highest individual score by any West Indian batsman at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
Russell walked out to the wicket when his team’s score was 96 for the loss of seven wickets. The blistering all-rounder took the responsibility and hammered Indian bowlers with his classy swing of the bat.
The Jamaican player struck eight lovely boundaries and five mighty sixes during his 84-minute long stay at the crease.
Russell conceded that he was a bit anxious, when he came out to bat but got the better of his nerves after sometime.
"When I went in I was not nervous. I actually ran all the way to the crease. I was batting with a senior partner, so I knew I had enough time to get myself settled, build an innings
and get a good score for the team”, said Russell.

Deploring his team’s humiliating defeat despite his excellent performance in the third ODI, Russell stated that he is keen to play a pivotal role in his team’s victories in the future and finish his cricket career as a legend.
