West Indies v India 2011 – Caribbean Kings give Jamaica Joy with win in 5th ODI
The crowd at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica, had a wonderful day watching their home side rattle the world champions as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 to victory in the fifth and final match of the One Day International (ODI) series by seven wickets.
This is the second time in two series this year that the Windies have won the last two matches of the series after losing the tournament. Still, a win against the champions will without a doubt give a boost to the West Indians, who are in a rebuilding phase, as they seek their lost glory in the world of cricket.
After winning the toss, Sammy decided to field first, which showed that he was willing to put pressure on his batsmen and see if his batting brigade would come through while chasing the formidable Indian bowling.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820, still has some mighty fine batsmen within their ranks.
For India, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Parthiv-Ajay-Patel-c80778 opened the innings.
However, before the two could form a dangerous opening partnership, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Anthony-Martin-c45051 took a stunner of a catch by diving towards the ball from square-leg. With Patel removed after making just six runs, the Jamaican crowd went wild.
Two overs later, Dhawan also fell to his demise after scoring just 11 runs as he was caught in first slip by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KAJ-Roach-c1758.
With both openers back in the pavilion without scoring http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Kohli-c2737, proved once again just why he is such an important player in the Indian team as he bolted a phenomenal innings of 94 runs off 104 deliveries, which included 10 fours.
Coming one down, Kohli completely humbled the West Indian bowling brigade as he played mind blowing shots all over the park.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KA-Pollard-c1754 in the 16th over.
Finally Kohli, who seemed settled in so well, got run out when he challenged the throwing arm of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Barry-McDonald-c44289 Sarwan in the deep, who made an accurate throw at the stumps, which was cleanly picket up, by the wicketkeeper as he disturbed the stumps, trapping the Indian batsman well outside the line.
Later it was Rohit Sharma, who injected 57 runs in the total tally, as he played exceptionally well against the Windies, who were on a rampage and were eager to get the Indians out as soon as possible. At the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Close-c51347 of the innings the tourists posted a tally of 251 runs on the board for the home-side to overcome.

Later on Simmons’ opening partner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-Barath-c886 was adjudged leg-before wicket (lbw) off a delivery bowled by Mishra. The West Indian batsman scored 17 runs.
With things looking bad, the hosts seemed to be heading for another defeat.
However, it was the batting heroics from veteran, Sarwan, and, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Varun-Mishra-c94922, after he had added 86 runs to the total tally.
The two actually took the game away from the Indians and the later batsmen, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marlon-Nathaniel-Samuels-c74804, and Pollard just capitalised on the good work that had been done by Sarwan, and, Bravo, has led their team to their second consecutive win against the world champions.
Andre Russell was named man of the match for the four wickets that he took in the finale, while India’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/P-Rohit-Sharma-c80557 was named as the man of the series.
The two teams will now rally against each other on 20 June, 2011 at Kingston in the first Test of a three-match series.
