http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 2011 - Darren Bravo sees bowling as huge threat for Men in Blue in Test series
Despite losing the One Day International (ODI) series by 3-2 at the hands of India, the dazzling West Indian batsman, Darren Bravo, believes that the team has picked up the winning momentum by notching two comprehensive wins in the last two games.
The Caribbean Kings sealed an emphatic seven-wicket victory in the 5th ODI against India at Sabina Park, Jamaica on Thursday, June 16, 2011.
After deciding to bowl first, the Windies bowled the Indians out on a get-able total of 251. Although, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/P-Rohit-Sharma-c80557 put their team in a strong position by hitting half-centuries, the lower middle-order failed to capitalise on the situation.
In response, the hosts got off to a lazy start, losing both openers at a score of 53. However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ramnaresh-Ronnie-Sarwan-c83880 and Bravo took the responsibility and scored a thrilling unbeaten 103-run partnership for the third wicket.
Sarwan had to go back to the pavilion after getting retired-hurt but Bravo continued the good work and played a pivotal role in his team’s victory by smashing a brilliant knock of 86 runs.
Enormously delighted over scoring his career-best innings in the crucial match, Bravo stated that his next challenge will be to perform well in the upcoming Test series against the World Champions, starting from June 20, 2011.
"I was out of the second and third game. It was an important match for me; I really wanted to make it count. I will be back in Tests which is a format which suits my batting”, said Bravo.
When asked about his team’s chances in the Test series, Bravo noted that the Windies have enough firepower in the bowling department to counter India’s batting line-up in the longer version of the game.
"With http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Fidel-Henderson-Edwards-c57010 returns, it could be a bit intimidating (for the Indian batsmen)", added the classy left-handed batsman.
