The tourists’ ended day two of the match with 575 runs on the board and nine wickets down. The star of the show for them was middle-order batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DM-Bravo-c1386, who top scored with a spectacular knock of 166 runs.
This was Bravo’s third Test ton and the impressive thing about the youngster is that he has the ability to score big centuries.
The 22-year-old scored his maiden century in the longest version of the game against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 in a recently concluded series. Not only did he manage to reach three figures, but carried onto make 195, which is his highest score in an innings till date.
The solid left-handed batsman carried his form into the series against India and scored two hundreds against them.
Apart from Bravo, other West Indian batsmen also played well in the ongoing Test, as the top-six crossed fifty.
Openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-Barath-c886 started off with a solid first wicket partnership of 137 runs. They scored 68 and 62 in their respective outings, but would have liked to carry on and score centuries.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kirk-Anton-Edwards-c71510 and Bravo capitalised on the solid start provided by the openers, scoring a 164-run stand for the third wicket. The former was unable to reach three figures and got dismissed for 86 with the help of 13 boundaries.
Youngster http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kieran-Omar-Akeem-Powell-c71441 also enjoyed batting in Mumbai, as he was involved in a 160-run stand with Bravo before getting out on 81.
The latter was the fifth wicket to fall in the innings, but he had done the damage, as the visitors had already passed 500 at that stage.
