The first hat-trick of the on-going ICC 2011 World Cup helped West Indies crush the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780.
In a scene reminiscent of the glory days of West Indian cricket their fast bowler, Kemar Roach, blew away the hapless Dutch batsmen on his way to a 6 wicket haul, which is the best performance of a bowler in the tournament to date.
The Dutch team opted to field first after winning the toss, they were set on the back foot almost from the outset as Chris Gayle and Devon Smith scored runs at a quick rate adding 100 runs for the opening wicket.
Gayle was circumspect at the start yet went on a rampage later scoring 80 runs off 110 balls. His knock was studded with 7 fours and 2 massive sixes.
Smith, on the other hand, scored 53 runs, the West Indians were well served by their big hitting all rounder, Kieron Pollard, who scored 60 runs in only 27 balls, his innings included 4 sixes and 5 fours.
Pollard found good assistance from the rest of the batting line-up as the West Indians went into an overdrive taking their total to mammoth proportions.
The Dutch team was under tremendous pressure from the outset, they looked great with the bat in their opening game against England yet the herculean task at hand made them stutter and falter.
Ryan Tan Doeschate, who was their main hope after his hundred in the last game, was sent packing for only 7 runs. Tim http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Cooper-c51561 was the only man to offer some resistance as Roach came into his own sending one batsman after another to the pavilion with his big
swing and high pace.
He dismissed, Pieter Seelar, Bernard Loots, and, Berend Westdjik, with late swinging deliveries, which were too good for the amateur tail of the Dutch team.
Roach won the man of the match award for his splendid effort as the West Indians wrapped up a comfortable win in the 32nd over of the Dutch innings. Their outstanding form left the Men in Orange reeling.
